Welcome to my practice!
My name is Larry Borins and i’m dedicated to providing a compassionate and collaborative space where you can find the encouragement and support needed to navigate life’s challenges and ultimately, feel better.
With over 17 years of experience as a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist, I’ve honed my skills across diverse settings, including outpatient hospital centers, family health teams, private practice, and community health organizations. My journey has equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of various therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) and I specialize in working with individuals and couples and families. Whether you’re struggling with depression, anxiety, marital issues, or are simply seeking personal growth, I’m here to help you overcome obstacles and foster a deeper sense of inner peace.
As a devoted father to three energetic, hockey-loving daughters, I have a profound appreciation for the complexities of family dynamics and the importance of nurturing resilience. This personal experience informs my professional approach, emphasizing the need to cultivate balance and strength when faced with life’s ups and downs.
Building a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship is at the heart of my practice. I believe it’s the cornerstone of meaningful change.
No matter the challenges you’re facing—whether it’s navigating depression, anxiety, or relationship difficulties—there is hope. You don’t have to navigate these struggles alone. Together, we can work towards exploring your thoughts and feelings, managing symptoms, uncovering their significance, and enhancing your overall well-being. I’m here to support your every step of the way on your journey towards healing and growth.
For your convenience, I offer both virtual Zoom sessions, allowing for accessible support from anywhere, as well as in-person therapy at my Eglinton and Avenue Road location.
Counselling and psychotherapy have the power to transform lives, and accessibility has never been easier. Remember, seeking help is a testament to your strength, not your weakness.
If you’re ready to take the first step toward positive change, I invite you to reach out. Contact me today at [email protected] to schedule your initial consultation. Together, we can work towards achieving your goals and enhancing your mind health. I look forward to collaborating with you on your path to healing and personal growth.

I have some good news for you. You already possess the power to shape your life. You can choose to live with greater acceptance, be more in the present moment, and cultivate a more authentic way of being.
I know, because I’ve seen my clients overcome their personal stumbling blocks many, many times: from dealing with anxiety and depression, to feelings of disconnection and relationship problems.
The seed of their remarkable results lays in the way they learn to relate to their thoughts, feelings and emotions. I’ve been helping people with this practice –called Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) – for many years.
According to CBT, it’s not the situation that makes us unhappy, but how we think about it (Cognitive), and what we do about it (Behaviour) that causes us distress. With practice, CBT helps you to change unhelpful thoughts and actions in the moment. The ultimate goal: you become equipped to tackle these problems in your own unique way, so you can realize your dreams, improve self-confidence, and influence your everyday mood.
I’m always delighted when my clients shift their attitudes toward their thoughts and feelings. The effect that ripples through the rest of their lives and relationships is extraordinarily satisfying to see.
Combined with a disciplined approach and extensive theoretical knowledge, I believe my success is rooted in my integrity, ethics, open mindedness, and sensitivity. I cherish my clients’ trust; it’s the foundation of our success.
If you’re ready to reduce stress, improve relationships, and create sustainable change in your life, contact me today. (416) 546-5511 or [email protected]
My sessions are often covered under your extended health benefits plan.
